The Rotary Club of Saddleworth have presented Mahdlo with a cheque for £250, knowing that an anonymous supporter will double the donation.
Mahdlo Youth Zone, on Egerton Street on the edge of the town centre, is a registered charity and state-of-the-art Youth Zone for 8-19 year olds. They offer an exciting range of activities and opportunities that all young people from across Oldham can access as a member.
The Rotary Club of Saddleworth are longstanding supporters of Mahdlo Youth Zone and when their members heard that a local anonymous benefactor had offered to match fund any donations made to Mahdlo during the month of October, they immediately agreed to a donation.
Saddleworth Rotary Club Vice President Ian Brett, who presented a cheque for £250.00 to Claire Crossfield at Mahdlo today said: "After the difficult times Mahdlo, like many charities, have gone through over the past 18 months, we saw this as a great opportunity to get that extra value for any donation we made to what we see as an essential youth service in Oldham."
Any further donations made to Mahdlo before the end of October 2021 continue to attract match funding.
