Film-making skills amongst courses on offer at Oldham charity open day

A charity that supports disadvantaged local residents in Oldham is holding on open day to showcase their services and training courses.
Centre of Wellbeing, Training & Culture (CWTC) is a registered charity organisation, based in Barn Street in Oldham. It provides a variety of training courses and skilled workshops for marginalised communities in the town.
Among the services they provide are work placements for students and volunteers; a wellbeing cafe to try arts & crafts, singing, and information about traning and health providers.
The charity also provides courses in Understanding Dementia, Diabetes, Mental Health, Supporting Carers; Career Development & Employability, Digital Film Making, and Audio Software.
They also house audio and filming studios, create a podcast, and operate a YouTube channel.
CWTC are hosting an open day on Tuesday 31st March between 11am and 2pm to showcase their services, and talk to residents about improving their wellbeing.
The Mayor of Oldham, Cllr Elaine Garry will be attending, and you'll be able to listen to guest speakers on the day. There will also be a number of information stalls and light refreshments.
CEO, Mohammed Sarwar says the organisation is keen to form partnerships across the town: "We want to support businesses in connecting with the local community, and are keen to share our experience and resources to support other groups in Oldham."
The open day takes place at the charity's new facilities at Medtia Chambers, 1st Floor, Barn Street, Oldham, OL1 1JP, near the Shimla restaurant, behind the police station..
