Gail Stott shows off her award
Gail Stott has won the National Teaching Assistant of the Year award.
Run by the Community Education Awards, Gail beat 588 other nominees to win the prestigious prize.
She works at Blackshaw Lane Primary and Nursery School in Royton.
School teacher Rachael Pearce said: "I nominated Gail for her dedication and effort.
"She supports the staff and children and is a valued member of the team.
"The children said she is kind, helpful, a problem solver and always cheers them up.
"She is an inspiration and we are all really proud and pleased that she won the award."
