Oldham-based Trust short-listed for two prestigious awards

Date published: 01 March 2025

The Oldham-headquartered Pinnacle Learning Trust (PLT) has been shortlisted for Wellbeing Trust of the year and CFO of the year at this year’s MAT Excellence awards.

Jayne Clarke OBE, CEO, said: ‘We are delighted and grateful to have been shortlisted for these two significant awards.

"Stewart’s work as our CFO is outstanding and he richly deserves this recognition, and we place great importance on wellbeing so we are particularly proud to have been shortlisted in this category too.

"I’d also like to add my congratulations to all the other trusts shortlisted."

The MAT Excellence Awards gives trusts the opportunity to celebrate their achievements and recognise their impact on pupils, staff and the community within a range of categories.

To be nominated in two categories is a great honour and testament to the hard work of all staff across the trust.

Stewart Ash, CFO, was nominated for his transformational work within his role and areas of responsibility, making a strong trust even stronger.

He said: "It’s really pleasing to have been shortlisted for CFO of the year, and I’m very proud of our achievements.

"This nomination reflects the dedication and togetherness of the teams I represent, and of the wider trust colleagues with whom I work, for the ultimate benefit of our children and young people in the community of Oldham."

The Wellbeing Trust of the year award recognises the trust’s impactful commitment to wellbeing for young people and staff in all phases and across all of its academies.

It is an excellent complement to the recent Edurio Staff Choice Awards that saw PLT amongst the top ten in England.

Senior leaders are looking forward to attending the awards ceremony in June, to recognise our staff and students' hard work and to celebrate alongside other amazing and well-deserving trusts from across the UK.
