The Oldham community flocked to E-ACT The Oldham Academy North (TOAN) recently for its annual Christmas Fair, which brought some festive cheer for attendees and marked the academy’s busiest event yet.
The evening offered something for everyone, with a range of activities to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.
Guests enjoyed decorating Christmas cards and ornaments, designing t-shirts and tote bags, and crafting bracelets and phone charms.
Children (and adults!) couldn’t resist the cookie and gingerbread decorating stations, while the karaoke room proved a popular spot for budding singers.
Hot chocolate, Dutch pancakes, and candy floss kept everyone fuelled throughout the evening, and a carolling group entertained everyone with traditional Christmas favourites.
The night’s special guest, Manchester United mascot Fred the Red, brought plenty of smiles and photo opportunities for young football fans.
This year, TOAN staff and students were thrilled to welcome families and students from local primary schools who joined in the festivities as part of the academy’s efforts to strengthen community ties.
Jess Giraud, Headteacher at TOAN, said: “It was wonderful to see so many families, friends, and pupils coming together for our Christmas Fair.
"Events like this are a fantastic way to bring the community closer and spread some holiday cheer.
"A big thank you to everyone who joined us and to all the staff and students who made the evening such a success.
“It was a perfect way to celebrate the season and wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
"We’re looking forward to delivering more fantastic community events in 2025.”
