Kingfisher Learning Trust's latest Annual Ball is a perfect opportunity to support local schools

Date published: 17 December 2024

The Kingfisher Learning Trust has announced details of its 15th Annual Kingfisher Ball.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at The White Hart in Lydgate, from 6:30pm.

This much-anticipated event promises an evening of entertainment, fine dining, and exciting auction prizes, all in support of schools within the Trust.

Founded in 2016, Kingfisher Learning Trust is a values-led organisation based in Oldham, committed to providing exceptional education for pupils with diverse learning needs.

The Trust includes Kingfisher Special School, Medlock Valley Primary School, Halcyon Way School, Littlemoor Primary School, Blackshaw Lane Primary School, and Cromwell High School in Tameside.

The Trust's focus is on meaningful partnerships with high aspirations for all pupils, ensuring they receive the best facilities and opportunities to thrive.

This year marks a significant milestone as the Ball will, for the first time, support all schools within the Trust, rather than just an individual school.

Funds raised will go towards improving the educational experiences of pupils across the Trust, with all schools in need of support.

"Every penny raised during the Ball will go towards creating a positive, lasting impact for children across the Trust," said Michael Unsworth, COO for the Trust.

"With all our schools in need of support, this year’s event holds even greater signicance."

Last year’s event was an outstanding success, raising an incredible £16,100, which was used to purchase Acheeva Workstations – specialist equipment designed to assist children with profound and multiple learning diculties in accessing their education.

"We saw first-hand the dierence this equipment made in our schools, and we're eager to raise even more this year to continue that kind of life-changing support," added Michael.

Businesses and individuals are encouraged to get involved by donating prizes for the rae or auction.

Unique “money-can’t-buy” experiences are particularly sought after, but all contributions are welcome.

Tables are available for booking with no set deadline, and businesses can also sponsor elements of the evening, such as the pre-dinner drinks reception or entertainment.

Long-time supporter Richard Duerr, of Duerrs Jam, shared his enthusiasm for the event, stating: “It’s the best event we go to.”

With entertainment, great food, and the chance to win fantastic prizes, the Ball is always a sell-out and attracts guests year after year.

Your support will help enhance the educational experiences of pupils across the Trust.
