Waterhead Academy in Oldham has received recognition from Ofsted for its progress in a new report.
Inspectors found that "Leaders have made progress to improve the school and continue to act swiftly to make further improvements."
The report noted the dedication of staff, governors, and trustees, who have worked hard to transform the learning environment and improve educational outcomes for all students.
Commenting on the report, James Wilson, principal at Waterhead Academy, said: "Everyone at Waterhead Academy has worked hard to improve the school in all areas.
"The feedback from this monitoring visit recognises the advances made over the last year.
"The inspectors recognised the Academy's successful efforts to drive meaningful change.
"We aim to maximise each child's potential so we can confidently declare that each student received their GCSE passport to success.
"That's in addition to providing high-quality teaching and pastoral care within a positive and supportive culture."
The inspectors found evidence of substantial progress as the Academy moves towards its goal of exiting special measures.
The report highlighted a marked shift in the school culture, with high expectations for behaviour firmly established.
Older pupils appreciated the positive changes in student conduct and the improvements in their day-to-day school experience.
The report noted that a calm atmosphere throughout the school has enriched the students' experience and significantly improved attendance rates, demonstrating a renewed commitment to student engagement.
The Academy has successfully embedded a comprehensive curriculum, and the recent recruitment of subject specialists alongside targeted professional development initiatives has enhanced teachers' subject knowledge, ensuring a high standard of instruction across subjects.
The report concluded the governance team has strengthened its role, with trustees and governors providing robust oversight.
Parents and carers are invited to attend the half-termly forum to engage with senior leaders and discuss the Academy's improvement strategies.
Feedback from the school's improvement partners will also be shared.
Those seeking further information may contact the Academy.
