E-ACT The Oldham Academy North (TOAN) hosted its second annual culture day, or ‘Diversity Big Bash’, to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of its students and community.
Organised by Mr Ahmed and Miss Shohid, the day was a showcase of diversity, unity, and cultural pride.
Students and staff arrived dressed in a variety of cultural outfits, ranging from traditional clothes to football shirts and hats, each representing their unique backgrounds and communities.
Entertainment included student-led performances, with each year group presenting songs, dances, and other artistic expressions that highlighted their cultural heritage.
A popular highlight of the event was the selfie booth, complete with a photo printer and a selfie frame.
Students and staff all enjoyed capturing special memories of the day.
Organiser Syed Ahmed, Director of Transition and Head of Year 7, said: “The Diversity Big Bash was a vibrant celebration of E-ACT TOAN’s rich cultural heritage.
"It was fantastic to see our students and staff come together, celebrating and learning from each other’s traditions and embracing each other’s cultures.
"The day truly embodied the spirit of unity in diversity that we cherish at TOAN.”
Jessica Giraud, Headteacher at E-ACT The Oldham Academy North, added: “What an incredible day!
"I’m very proud of the cultural diversity we enjoy at TOAN and our Diversity Big Bash was a perfect way to celebrate our differences whilst coming together as one community.
"It was a clear demonstration of our dedication to fostering an environment where every student can feel valued and proud of their heritage.
"It’s becoming a real highlight of our year.”
