Homebuilder Redrow has donated £2,500 towards new outdoor equipment for Saint Joseph’s RC Junior, Infant and Nursery School’s youngest pupils.
The school successfully applied for Redrow’s Oldham Community Fund, launched to mark the opening of Redrow’s new development, Bishop Meadows in Cowlishaw.
The 25-acre development will include more than 200 homes from Redrow’s Arts and Crafts inspired Heritage Collection, in a range of three to five-bedroom designs.
The development will also include five acres of green space and its own orchard.
The school initially received a donation of £2,000 for the outdoor equipment, with a further contribution of a shortfall of £500 towards installation.
“We are very grateful to Redrow for this funding,” said Sally Glynn, school business manager at Saint Joseph’s RC Junior, Infant and Nursery School.
“The new gym apparatus has been installed in the infant playground and will make a huge difference to our pupils, with many benefits including improving motor skills, team building and improving overall health.”
Sian Pitt, sales director at Redrow Lancashire, said: “Community is so very important, and we are very pleased to be able to support Saint Joseph’s RC Junior, Infant and Nursery School with this new gym equipment.
“The pupils look like they are enjoying it already!”
