Christ Church children enjoy their new bench on the playing field
Staff and pupils at Christ Church CofE Primary School in Chadderton have thanked local company George Hill Timber and Building Supplies for their kind donation of a new bench for their playing field.
The school initially contacted several local companies in the hope that one would donate a bench for Christ Church's daily mile path.
The path is located on the school field and is used for the children to walk or run around during the day.
Not only does this help to keep the children fit, but it also helps to improve healthy wellbeing.
Teaching assistant Sonya Khwaja said: "As a school we are committed to providing our children with a safe learning environment which also promotes positive wellbeing.
"We currently have a prayer garden which the children and staff have access to and every Wednesday we carry out activities, which we have named Wellbeing Wednesday.
"This ensures we dedicate time to focus on the wellbeing of our children and teach them skills that they can then use to manage their emotions in a positive way.
"We are very proud of the hard work that has gone into and continues to go into improving provisions for our children, but we feel the addition of benches on our daily mile would offer them additional options.
"We would like to thank George Hill Timber and Building Supplies for their very generous donation of a bench which has been placed along our daily mile path and is currently being used by our children."
Other companies who may be in a position to donate a bench to Christ Church can contact Sonya direct on 0161 624 0907.
