Corpus Christi staff and pupils are celebrating the Ofted inspection results
A Chadderton school is celebrating after receiving an ‘outstanding’ rating by Ofsted inspectors.
Corpus Christi RC Primary School on Stanley Lane at the end of March this year, and produced their report earlier this month, in which inspectors praised staff for their ‘exceptional’ support of children.
In a glowing inspection report, officials described pupil behaviour as ‘exceptional’, and that “Pupils enjoy sharing social times together. They make sure that no one is left out.”
Corpus Christi was praised for the work on the development of language for the youngest pupils. The report highlighted that many pupils arrive at the school with “an insecure grasp of language”, which includes those who are speaking English as a second language. Despite this, however, by the time they are in key stage 2 pupils develop “a remarkable range and depth ofknowledge. They are exceptionally well prepared for the next stages of their education.”
The report also shone a light on the teachers’ ‘high expectation’ of good behaviour, and confirmed that school leaders and staff were ‘highly effective’.
The school was previously judged to be ‘outstanding’ in the last Ofsted inspection in 2015. Once a school receives the highest rating, inspectors revisit the site some years later to ensure the school remains in the category. In this instance, Corpus Christi continued to be an ‘outstanding’.
This week, pupils from the school gathered on the school field for a special aerial shot to celebrate the successful inspection.
