Oldham Foodbank bolstered by £1500 donation

Kind-hearted members of Saddleworth WI have donated £1500 to the Oldham Foodbank.
The Foodbank, based on Vulcan Street in Oldham, helps those struggling to make ends meet with free foodpacks, delivered to their door.
Demand has increased for the service, following the Covid pandemic, and the increase in food prices and energy bills in 2022.
The cheque was presented to staff at the Foodbank by Saddleworth WI Treasurer Deborah Thompson.
A spokesperson for the WI said: "No one can argue that we are going through tough times and some are suffering more than others.
"We felt that this is a very good way of reaching out to those in need from the poorest families in our area. Thank you to all involved in the fund raising and well done everyone."
