A man who inflicted life-changing injuries on a man in his 40s has been jailed after being convicted of assault.
Jamil Ahmed, 37, of Thurland Road, was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment on Friday (4 March) at Manchester Crown Court.
The court was told Ahmed inflicted life changing leg injuries on a man in his 40s by striking him with a car and then a steering wheel lock during an incident on Whitehouse Avenue in May 2021.
DC James Rothwell, of GMP's Oldham district, said: "The impact this incident had on the victim will last him a life time but I hope today's result provides him with a sense of closure.
"This case just goes to show that Greater Manchester Police is committed to investigating and solving crime - ensuring that those responsible for crimes are brought to face justice."
