Two KFC restaurants in Oldham have now re-opened
Fried chicken lovers in Oldham can get their fix again today after KFC announced two stores in the town are re-opening after a weekend to forget.
Customers at KFC restaurants on Huddersfield Road and the Elk Mill Retail Park were left all in a flap when they arrived for their meals over the weekend only to find that KFC had missed their chicken delivery and as a result the restaurants would be closed.
It was part of a nationwide issue for the takeaway chain who had their feathers ruffled after changing the company who are responsible for actually getting the birds to the shops.
In a light-hearted statement on their website, KFC said: “We’ve brought a new delivery partner onboard, but they’ve had a couple of teething problems – getting fresh chicken out to 900 restaurants across the country is pretty complex.
“We won’t compromise on quality, so no deliveries has meant some of our restaurants are closed, and others are operating a limited menu, or shortened hours.”
The company have listed the shops who are open from this morning (Tuesday, February 20).
KFC’s statement continued: “We know that this might have inconvenienced some of you over the last few days, and disappointed you when you wanted your fried chicken fix - we’re really sorry about that.
“Shout out to our restaurant teams who are working flat out to get us back up and running again.
“Hope to see you in our restaurants soon.”
