THE Rowbothams produced a 1-2-3 clean sweep in the 36-hole Werneth Club Championship — the 11th successive year a member of the family has lifted the trophy.

Scratch-handicapper Adam (24) took the title for the second time in three years with a four-under-par 132 after two rounds of 66.

That was enough to beat his eldest brother Lee and father Paul by four shots after they both scored level-par 136.

Lee, the current district champion, defending club champion and four-time winner of the crown, claimed runner-up spot on a card play-off after his 69-67 return.

Paul, who has picked up the trophy seven times (six in a row from 2004-2009), settled for third after two level-par 68s.

That makes 13 wins in total for the Rowbothams — the same number as club veteran Les Dooley, who last won in 2003.

Paul’s level-par rounds were in contrast to 24 hours earlier, when he claimed the Garden Suburb club’s Fairway Cup with 62-1-61 to win by two from former captain Shaun Rattigan (73-10-63).

Paul’s 62 gross - one short of the course record held by Lee - was remarkable considering he began with a bogey five at the first.
