Clint Boon’s baby loses fight for life

Date published: 23 April 2012

THE daughter of Oldham music icon Clint Boon lost her fight for life on Friday night.

Luna Bliss, born 13-weeks premature, had been battling an underlying health condition while being treated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Mary’s Hospital, Manchester.

Clint and his wife Charlie (30) had been keeping a bedside vigil.

Inspiral Carpets keyboard player Clint (52) confirmed the dread news on Saturday, saying she had “made his life wonderful”.

The little girl’s illness had prompted her big brother, Hector (5), to raise funds for the specialised hospital unit.

We reported last week that he had his first-ever hair cut in Luna’s honour, raising over £4,000. The money will be put towards specialist nursing chairs which offer vital contact between parents and their pre-term infants.

Taking on Saturday, Clint said: “Our beautiful baby girl Luna Bliss died peacefully in our arms last night at 7.30pm. She made our world even more wonderful. Thanks again for the hundreds and hundreds of messages you’ve sent us today. I can’t tell you how much it’s helped us.

“Please try and channel your sadness for baby Luna into happy thoughts.”
