FANCY dress fundraising brought crowds of keen competitors to Alexandra Park on Sunday for the annual Mayor's Mile Family Day.
A pizza and Princess Leia were just some of the costumes to race their way around the one mile course and help raise funds for the mayor of Oldham's charities Francis House and Macmillan Cancer Support.
After a warm welcome from the mayor, Councillor Derek Heffernan, who took part on a mobility scooter, it was ready, steady, go for the sporty bunch who ran, jogged, walked, used a wheelchair, and pushed prams towards the finish line.
First place went to Tony Muir, closely followed by Ian Jackson and Abigail Stratton respectively.
Each competitor received a medal and a whole host of prizes were given out for categories including best fancy dress and most unique way of completing the mile.
