AS A mark of solidarity, respect and remembrance Oldham Council yesterday flew the Rainbow Flag, pictured at half-mast over the Civic Centre.

The flag - a symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) pride - hung over Oldham following the disturbing Orlando nightclub massacre.

On June 12 vile gunman Omar Mateen (29) left 49 people dead and 53 wounded, after opening fire on innocent revellers at gay nightclub Pulse in Florida.

The news has stunned the world and Oldham Council sent out a clear message of solidarity yesterday.
