A LITTLE chef with big ambitions is on a roll - thanks to a national cooking competition.
William Fedden (9), from High Crompton, is one of three finalists in a contest to get children creative in the kitchen. Launched by celebrity chef Paul Rankin, competitors were challenged to come up with a dish featuring his new family sausage range.
William combined two of his favourite foods to create a pizza sausage roll using home-made tomato sauce, cheese sauce and tiger bread.
His mum Joanne Pilkington said: “We’s just bought some of the sausages and saw the contest. We like to encourage William to do a bit of cooking and be creative and he said he liked pizza and sausages - and came up with the pizza sausage roll!
“We couldn’t believe it when they said he was a finalist; hopefully this will encourage him to do more cooking.”
Paul Rankin said: “William’s pizza sausage roll recipe combines two kids’ favourites for a modern and fun twist. It’s an incredibly easy dish to make at home William’s recipe was a standout classic for me and he is a very worthy finalist.”
