A SADDLEWORTH chart-topper got the shock of her career when one of her musical heroes called her — while she was shopping!.
On the other end of Jodie Connor’s phone was multi-nominated Grammy rap artist Busta Rhymes, who said he as keen to feature on the urban music star’s new single!
The former Saddleworth School pupil — who has already had a No 1 hit — hopes her new dance track “Take You There” will smash the charts this summer with the American superstar’s help.
Jodie (31) revealed: “I went to New York to work on the single and wasn’t happy with it on its own, so I was asked who I would want to feature on it. I only said Busta’s name jokingly. When I was in the supermarket, my phone started ringing and it was him! He was really nice, saying how he really loved the track and wanted to be a part of it.”
This is Jodie’s latest assault on the charts after 12 months out due to family illness. She rose to fame in 2010 after featuring on Roll Deep’s No 1 single “Good Times”.
Busta doesn’t appear on the video for the single - he got a last-minute call to appear in Russia.
