Man, 55, in bike tragedy

ROAD block... police close Broadway, Chadderton, last night at the scene of the accident
POLICE closed Broadway for more than three hours last night after a Chadderton man died after falling off his bike.
The 55-year-old was cycling home from a late shift at work when witnesses said he lost control near Chadderton Fire Station and hit his head on the ground. Police were called at 10.25pm and the man was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital but died a short time later.
Police believe no-one else was involved. The road was closed until shortly after 2am.
