FABULOUS fundraisers including generous Oldhamers helped this year's Children in Need appeal reach a record breaking £46.6m, beating last year's amount of £37.1m.
Celebrities including singer Britney Spears and Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne join in the fundraising fun during Friday night's TV appeal show, with hosts including Graham Norton, Tess Daly, Rochelle and Marvin Humes leading a dazzling night of entertainment.
There were sketches, performances and treats from some of the nation's most loved star along with appeal films featuring some of the children and young people whose lives have been changed through the support of BBC Children in Need.
Across the borough, Oldhamers took up the fundraising challenge and hosted a variety of events on Friday and over the weekend including cake sales, leg waxes and non uniform days.
Pupils at Hodge Clough Primary in Moorside braved snowy weather on Friday and donned spotty clothes, cool pyjamas and and comfy onesies to raise funds for Children in Need.
The children also sold festival style wrist bands and even had their very own cardboard Pudsey bear attend on the day.
And Samantha Jane's School of Dance in Chadderton synchronised with other dance troupes up and down the country as part of the Children in Need Tapathon as they attempted to break the world record for the largest tap dancing event to be held simultaneously at multiple venues.
Over 35 dancers put on their tap shoes to perform a routine yesterday to help beat the record and also raise money for some of the UK's most disadvantaged children and also one of their members grandsons who is currently fighting Hodgkin Lymphoma.
