Oldham RLFC launch campaign for ‘Our League’

The campaign is to help the club survive during the current pandemic.
At a time when, stricken by the pandemic, the national economy is taking a pounding -- and sport generally is fighting for its life -- Oldham RLFC has launched a campaign to get as many local people as possible signing up for 'Our League', the RFL's FREE membership app.
It features live streamed games, prizes, a full match centre, news, interviews and discounts on RFL material.
It costs not a penny to join, but the more membership figures the club gets, the more Roughyeds receive in central funding at a critical time when, like all clubs, income is well down.
Given that 'Our League' is FREE to fans but hugely beneficial to the club, Roughyeds are urging fans to sign up and to encourage neighbours, relatives, friends and workmates to follow suit.
Of the 25 Championship and League One clubs, Oldham currently lie in mid-table with 2,441 registered members and a 12th-place rating.
Dewsbury Rams, one place higher with 2,505 members, can be easily caught.
The flip side is that Whitehaven, one place and only seven members behind, are breathing down Oldham's neck.
Bradford Bulls are out in front, followed by Leigh, Widnes and Featherstone.
Barrow Raiders are the leading League 1 club in seventh spot overall and there's another League One club also higher than Roughyeds in Doncaster, who have 2,702 members.
Said the RFL's Mark Foster: "Membership numbers continue to grow because of what the app has to offer in terms of experience and engagement."
Subscription is FREE and the app is widely available via app stores and at rugby-league.com/ourleague.
As part of their application, Roughyeds fans need to say they support Oldham.
Said club chairman Chris Hamilton: "Financially, things are very tough for everyone but this is one way the club can benefit with no expense to anyone else. We would really appreciate the support of Oldhamers on this."
