Two Blue Coat students are celebrating after being offered places at Oxford University.
Anton Lyons is really looking forward to studying Law at Keble College.
He said: "The chance to take part in Oxford's tutorial system, which is known for its rigorous and thought-provoking approach to learning, is something I am particularly excited about.
"The application process was tough at times, but the support I got from the Oxbridge Program whether it was through practice interviews or personal statement feedback made a huge difference and helped me feel more confident."
Kieran Silika, meanwhile, is delighted with his offer to study Human Sciences at Oxford.
He added: "The door that has been opened for me provides me with the opportunity to enhance my academic ability immensely and I look forward to using the time to build my future.
"The support program offered by Blue Coat was my first insight into super-curriculars and their importance.
"Overall I am grateful for the support I was offered which was key to helping me gain my offer and am excited to see what the future holds."
Blue Coat Headteacher Rob Higgins said: "We're all delighted with the success of our students.
"They have worked hard, not only in lessons but also by attending open days, summer schools, entering competitions and Olympiads.
"They were assisted by our outstanding specialist teaching staff and the support offered by our exclusive Oxford Access Programme, run in partnership with New College, Oxford."
Blue Coat School has a long history of Oxbridge success, so much so that we have been invited to be a partner school of New College Oxford to lead on the delivery of their prestigious 'Step-Up' programme, a fully funded sustained contact scheme designed to inspire and support state-school students throughout Year 11, 12 and 13.
Students have regular, consistent contact with the College's Outreach team over three years ensuring they are fully equipped and supported to make a competitive application.
Mr Higgins added: "We are proud to be identified as a partner school of New College Oxford, which is in recognition for the sustained success of our students, who year on year achieve places at the most competitive universities across the country."
