Tickets go live for Sigala world record game at Boundary Park

Date published: 19 March 2025

Oldham RLFC and Pro-Excel have announced that tickets are now on sale to see chart-topping UK producer, musician and DJ Sigala perform at the Betfred Championship fixture with Toulouse Olympique at Boundary Park on May 10, as part of an official world record attempt.

The monumental community event includes a bid to smash the world record for the most dancers to perform with a music artist, prior to the Roughyeds' mouth-watering clash with French side Toulouse.

The day will see 2,500 young performers from over 100 schools in both Oldham and across the UK come together on one of the biggest days in the town’s history.

The show takes place immediately before our game versus Toulouse and will raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Destination Florida.

Sigala has achieved eight UK top ten singles, a BRIT nomination for Best Single, seven global platinum singles, ten global gold singles, 7 million UK sales, 22 million global sales, 5 billion streams, over 1 billion video views and 12 top-ten airplay hits to date; with anthems including Came Here For Love feat. Ella Eyre; Sweet Lovin’ feat. Bryn Christopher; and uplifting collaborations with Ellie Goulding, David Guetta, Rita Ora, Paloma Faith, to name a few.

Sigala said: “I am so excited to be part of this historic event.

"A packed stadium and 2,500 aspiring dancers and singers from all over the UK performing together in the biggest mass movement show at a sporting event in the UK since the London 2012 Olympics – utterly amazing.

"Music and sport are huge platforms for engaging young people in a positive and healthy way, and this event will see all of us walk away as World Record holders!”

Oldham are winning plenty of new fans on their return to the Championship thanks to their star-studded squad and exciting style of play under head coach Sean Long.

Managing director Mike Ford said: “This event on May 10 will be a big moment for this club and the town of Oldham.

"We cannot wait for all our fans to get behind us both for a huge game against Toulouse and of course this brilliant community event with Pro-Excel.”

Liam O’Reilly, founder of the specialist education provider Pro-Excel, who is organising the event, said: “This project is a culmination of months of work, incredible collaboration between education, community groups, Oldham RLFC 1876 and one of the most dynamic musical talents in the UK.

"What will be achieved on this stage will be one of the most exciting and engaging community events of our generation.

"Giving so many young people from such diverse backgrounds an experience that will see them walk away as World Record Holders is such an unbelievable milestone.

"This day will be an enormous celebration of youth culture in the UK, and we are so grateful to Oldham RLFC 1876, Oldham Council, all of the schools and groups and of course Sigala for providing a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
