Oldham man charged with non-recent CSE offences

Date published: 11 April 2025

A man in Oldham will appear at court in the New Year on trial for non-recent child sexual offences in the town.

Mumtaz Khan is alleged to have committed 13 offences against three victims – then aged as young as 13 – between 2000 and 2007.

He was charged in February 2025 by detectives in GMP's local unit dedicated to protecting young and vulnerable people in the town.

He has since appeared at Manchester Magistrates’ Court and Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, where he was given court bail ahead of his trial on January 5, 2026.

GMP's Oldham Complex Safeguarding was authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service to serve eight counts of indecent assault, four counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of cause/incite a child to engage in sexual activity.

Police officers continue to work with specialist agencies to offer all those affected by this case ongoing support.
