Oldham's Mark Heffron set up his British title challenge with another crushing stoppage win last night.

The WBC International middleweight champion is mandatory for Jason Welborn’s Lonsdale belt, and will now be looking to get the fight for the prestigious title before the year is out.

Heffron warmed up nicely with a decent showing at the Morningside Arena in Leicester.

‘Kid Dynamite’ maintained his undefeated professional record, advancing to 21-0 with 17 early finishes, on the non-televised portion of the BT Sport-aired card topped by the WBO super-lightweight title eliminator between Jack Catterall and Ohara Davies.

Heffron sealed a comprehensive beating of Ghana’s Aryee Ayittey after two minutes and 53 seconds of the fourth round.

Ayittey, who is from Accra, was dropped twice before the referee called a halt to proceedings, losing for the first time by stoppage.

Heffron later Tweeted: "Another win 21-0, 17KOs thanks to everyone who came down to support me and thanks to my sponsors, manager, and trainer and a massive thanks to @UKHandSurgery

"I wouldn’t be in that ring if it wasn’t for him looking after my hands."
