Bella the tom cat
Meet Bella The Fella, the happy wanderering King of Kiln Green in Saddleworth.
For quirky starters, Bella is actually a tom cat says his owner Rachael Standley, when she revealed Bella is no ordinary furry friend - he’s a champion wanderer.
His remarkable story was revealed after she issued a “missing” poster to alert the Diggle community he had vanished again.
Said Rachael: "Bella likes to wander around in the area of Kiln Green and had become friendly with the workers on the railway doing the electrification of the line.
“He went missing for a few days and everyone was worried.
"He was found in Wigan having got into one of the vans with a worker.
"He had jumped into one of the vans and the workman brought him home this morning.”
On his return home she said: "He goes out a lot, he’s been to Crewe, North Yorkshire and all over and the workmen just bring him back when they are next on site.
"They put the poster on their WhatsApp group and someone replied saying he had he jumped in the van and they brought bring him back - he’s fine.
“I’m debating whether to try and make him an indoor cat again, but he loves being out so not sure what to do with him! Naughty Bella.“
She added: "He’s been well looked after in Wigan.
"He came home, gave us a cuddle, gave the dogs a cuddle and I gave him fresh chicken.
"He then asked to go back out, he sat on his wall for ten minutes looking for mice then headed back up to the cabin heading towards to the canteen.
“I didn’t feel he had wandered off this time as he has made really good friends with the workmen on the tracks and spends a lot of time there with them now.”
