The Oldham Academy North
Following school performance data being released by the government, E-ACT The Oldham Academy North has been ranked in the top 100 comprehensive schools in England, as well as achieving joint top comprehensive school in the North-West alongside Manchester Enterprise Academy Central.
This fantastic achievement is all the more impressive given the community that E-ACT The Oldham Academy North serves, with 51% of pupils eligible for pupil premium.
The academy is extremely proud that 54% of pupils achieved grade 5 or above in English and Maths GCSEs, which is above the local authority average of 43%.
In the academy’s Attainment 8 score – a score based on how well pupils performed in up to eight qualifications, E-ACT The Oldham Academy North achieved 50.8% which is again well above the local authority average of 44.5%.
The government’s performance data also shines a light on the fact that 94% of pupils either stayed in education or went into employment after finishing Key Stage 4 (after Year 11), which is also above the local average.
E-ACT The Oldham Academy North is part of E-ACT multi-academy trust, which is comprised of 28 academies across England.
Pete Kirkbride, National Directory of Secondary at E-ACT, said: “I am delighted that E-ACT The Oldham Academy North continues to help so many students achieve excellent results and ultimately go on to fulfil their aspirations.
"The success of the results and performance data is thanks to the hard work of academy staff, who always aim to do the best for our students.”
