Police are appealing for information after a hit and run incident, between a motorbike and a car on Moston Lane, yesterday - Tuesday May 10, 2022.

At around 7.45pm police were called to a report of a collision at the scene, close to the junction with Gill Street.

Initial enquiries have since established that one of the victims, a 19-year-old man, had been travelling on his motorbike with a friend, when they were struck by a silver Jaguar.

The rider and passenger of the motorbike were then attacked with weapons by two occupants of the car before the unknown offenders then drove off.

The car was located abandoned and on fire a short time later on Collyhurst Road.

The 19-year-old male was taken to hospital and received treatment for a broken leg and two stab wounds.

The offenders have been described as one mixed race male, around 6ft tall, wearing a dark tracksuit, and a shorter white male, also wearing a dark coloured tracksuit.

Detective Constable Liam Smith, of GMPs North Manchester CID, said: “There were a number of people at the scene either walking past or in cars on Tuesday evening and we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who may have dash cam footage showing the attack.

"This is completely mindless and unacceptable violence and we need to track down the offenders.

“Anyone with information or footage is asked to contact police on 0161 856 1146, quoting log number 2797 of the 10th May 2022. You can also use our Live Chat service on the GMP website.
