Rotary club donation to Ukrainian appeal

Generous spirited Saddleworth Rotary Club, determined to help those affected by the war in Ukraine, have donated £1000 to the UK-Med Ukraine Appeal.
 
UK-Med are a charity born out of the NHS and originating in Manchester. Club members were aware UK-Med have experience of helping those in difficult environments in other parts of the world and felt that their international experience matched with medical background would delivery the support needed in this developing humanitarian crisis.
 
Former NHS Consultant Radiologist and President of the Saddleworthn Rotary Club, Dr Ian Brett said "The Club were determined to help the Ukrainian people in their time of need and we felt that UK-Med had the right background, organisation and skills to provide some of that support on the ground.

"We know the money will be well spent and will make a real difference to those in need of our help."
 
UK Med’s Director of Fundraising and Communications, Jackie Snell said “We are incredibly grateful for the donation of £1,000 towards our Ukraine Appeal.

“Funding has enabled us to send an expert medical team to Ukraine. The team are working tirelessly and extensively across towns and cities to support the humanitarian health response. We thank Saddleworth Rotary Club for their generosity and support."
