Police were called to reports of a car theft on Saturday night
Police have used a stinger to halt a stolen vehicle and arrest the driver following the theft of a vehicle in Oldham.
The vehicle was taken from Old Kiln Lane in Grotton on Saturday evening.
Officers were deployed and, within minutes of the call, located the vehicle and requested the deployment of GMP's Tactical Vehicle Interception Unit.
The vehicle was stopped using a stinger and a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking. He remains in custody for questioning.
Inspector Sue Chadwick, of GMP's Oldham district, said: "First and foremost, I am pleased that we are able to reunite the victim with their vehicle and have arrested a suspect.
"This is an excellent example by the officer involved of team work to bring the incident to a quick, safe and, ultimately, positive conclusion.
"I hope this incident builds public trust and confidence surrounding GMP's response to incidents like this and commitment to fighting crime whilst delivering outstanding service."
