Oldham business mentor Muzahid Khan is one of three new Deputy Lieutenants announced by the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Sir Warren Smith KCVO JP.

Deputy Lieutenants are appointed for their endeavours over many years working to enhance the fabric of Greater Manchester.

Inspired by his mother and late father, from an early age Muzahid learnt to understand that as human beings, we have a special gift, that gift is to make the lives of fellow people better and serve goodness in all aspects of life.

This belief was to become the title of his first book, The Gift of Giving, which was released in May.

Muzahid is fully committed to empowering people in communities so that they can become better versions of themselves, and serve the community with positive impact.

He is managing director of Janala Ventura, a consultancy specialising in supporting the small business community with coaching and marketing support.

He is a regional consultant for Strengthening Faith Institutions, specialising in supporting places of worship to be sustainable through organisational development.

Muzahid has previously worked in local government, specialising in regeneration, as well as being a volunteer for numerous social and charitable organisations, including, a board member of Maggie’s Cancer Centre, Cranmer Education Trust, Positive Steps, Amana Foundation and the Beacon Community Charitable Foundation.
