Phil Joy and Laura are pictured on their big day
Congratulations have been pouring in on social media for two of Oldham Rugby League Club's popular players who have each passed never-to-be-forgotten milestones in their private lives.
Long-serving prop Phil Joy married his fiancee, Laura, at St Thomas's Church, Moorside on Saturday and they later flew out to celebrate together in Rhodes, one of the Greek islands.
"We knew our big day would be restricted by Covid and social-distancing, but everything went to plan and we had a cracking day," said Phil (29), who has played for his home-town club since he was 19, clocking up 160 senior games.
"Laura and I would like to publicly thank all those who have messaged us with best wishes," added Phil, who has recently signed a new two-year contract.
Similar sentiments were expressed by Roughyeds' centre Cam Leeming.
He and his partner, Steph, have been receiving the congratulations of fans after becoming the proud parents of a baby daughter, Lotte Margot, who weighed in at 7lbs 1oz.
Cam, who runs his own business as a personal trainer in South Leeds, tweeted: "Welcome to the newest member of the team. Lotte Margot Leeming.
"I've never been prouder of Steph, an absolute trooper, who smashed through labour to deliver our beautiful baby girl."
Joy and Leeming are among 21 players whom Roughyeds have already announced as having signed for 2021.
