Dr Kershaw's Lees shop will be re-opening today
Dr Kershaw’s has announced that their Lees shop will be re-opening today (Tuesday).
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospice has seen a significant drop in funding since the cancellation of a number of fundraising events and the closing of its shops within the borough.
It is therefore looking forward to reopening its Lees shop to help secure vital income for patient care.
Following the successful reopening of the hospice’s Shaw and Royton shops, the Lees shop will open with enhanced health and safety measures and strict social distancing guidelines to ensure the safest shopping environment.
All employees have been trained appropriately and will be provided with full PPE and the Hospice is confident that the safety measures that have been put into place adhere to guidance provided by the Government and Public Health England.
The Lees shop, like the other stores, will have a one-way system throughout the store with supporters being asked to adhere to social distancing guidelines as set out by the government and are asked, where possible, to pay by contactless.
There will be a reduced number of customers allowed in the store, with all customers being asked to follow social distancing guidelines and sanitise their hands upon entry.
Floor markers have been introduced throughout the shops to help members of the public keep their distance and the shops have also temporarily closed fitting rooms.
The shops will also be introducing cleaning throughout the day which will include regularly disinfecting high touch points such as door handles and hand rails.
For customer’s peace of mind, any donations which have been received will be cleaned and ‘quarantined’ for the suggested 72 hours before being made available in store for purchase, in order to prevent any contamination.
More information on when the rest of the charites shops will be opening will be made available on the Hospice’s website www.drkershawshospice.org.uk and on the Hospice’s social media platforms.
Rebecca Bentham, Head of Income Development, said: “Following the successful re-opening of two of our hospice shops to date, we are delighted to be opening the doors of our Lees shop once again.
"We look forward to welcoming back our customers and providing a safe environment for your retail needs.”
