Barrhead Travel opened its branch in Oldham today
Oldham's Mayor, Ginny Alexander, was there to do the honours and cut the ribbon at the Travel Agency on Market Place.
Customers old and new have been visiting since they opened for business last week but today they celebrated new pastures.
Amanda Scott Handley is the store manager. She said they're all very excited:
"It's been a fantastic day with everybody coming down. We've had customers, suppliers, the Mayor and Lisa from our chosen charity Dr Kershaw's.
"We've had a great reception since coming back. It's just been amazing."
"And we've stuck together which I think is key and Barrhead have given us this fantastic opportunity to stay together - a new store a new start!"
The agents are all ex-Thomas Cook staff and together they have 102 years of experience in finding customers the perfect holiday.
"We're so excited. We're abslutely so proud as well. To stick together and come out of a tough few months but this has just been brilliant.
Barrhead is expanding its brand across the UK from Scotland where it originated and has been running for 40 years.
They want to open around 100 stores and the Oldham one is the 14th to open.
