JOSHUA Cooper kept the home flag flying in a top junior event at Oldham Snooker Academy.
The tournament attracted 20 entrants from as far afield as Newcastle, Hartlepool, Darlington, Preston, Harrogate, Wakefield, Leeds and Liverpool.
Joshua (pictured), Ryan Davies and Omar Ahmed were the Oldham players involved and it was the former who landed the title, beating Michael Bamber, of Preston, 2-0 in the final.
In the semi-finals, Joshua performed a Houdini act against Josh Thomond.
A frame down and 27 behind on the colours, he cleared up and won on a re-spotted black before taking the decider.
Joshua’s top breaks on the day were 58 and a 42 clearance.
Another Oldham youngster, Aaron Davies, was in action in a Premier Junior Tour event at the Northern Snooker Club in Leeds.
Aaron did well to qualify for the last 16, but was beaten in the knock-out stages the following day.
