STAR boxing siblings Ronnie and Mark Heffron have taken over the reins at Rhino’s Gym on Huddersfield Road in Oldham.

Both former ABA champions and now currently forging their way menacingly up the professional boxing rankings, Ronnie (23) and Mark, who celebrates his 22nd birthday today, are laying the foundations for potential careers in training once their fighting days are over.

Mark said: “We were offered the opportunity to take over the gym and it seemed like a great idea.

“Ronnie and I will have a lot to offer people once we get properly off and running.

“As well as the fitness side side of things, we’ll be running strength classes and boxing classes for all ages.

“We’re both looking forward to running the gym. Training is something we would both like to get into once we’ve retired.”

Rhino’s Gym is now taking membership applications. The cost will be £25 per month.

Further details can be obtained by ringing the gym number, 07916 253129. There is also a Rhino’s Gym page on Facebook.

Meanwhile, unbeaten middleweight Mark will now fight Leicester tough guy Martin Concepcion in his next fight this Friday at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Trafford.

His originally-scheduled Mexican opponent was forced to pull out.

Ronnie heads to the Echo Arena in Liverpool on December 7 when he fights for the vacant WBO European light-middleweight title against Joe Selkirk.
