AFTER experiencing the joy of a treble-winning season, one talented Heyside Angels team have done it all over again.

Under the coaching skills of Mark Campbell, under-11s Inter scooped another silverware hat-trick in the Oldham Girls League.

The youngsters claimed title honours and won both the Knock-out Cup and League Cup.

They tasted success in the same three competitions as under-10s Whites and, in two years of competitive football, have been beaten just twice.

Angels under-10s Navys also won the treble this season — with three young players proving dynamic in front of goal.

Molly Taylor, Lavinia Whitehead and Ella Rigby spread fear in defences as they scored more than 50 goals each.

The team: Caitlin Senior (captain), Jade Hughes, Anais Morris, Tanisha Williams, Caitlin Hall, Emily Davies, Emily Whitehead, Ellie Doggett, Hannah Smedley, Georgia Clarke, Georgia Lowe.

ROCS’ JOY AT TROPHY TREBLE

ROCS FC had plenty to celebrate in the Oldham Girls League.

The under-14s, captained by Georgia Flynn (pictured), won the league and cup double, while the under-16s landed the league title.

Dynamos fight back

FAILSWORTH Dynamos under-15s ‘A’ won the Stockport Junior Blues six-a side tournament after a great comeback in the final.

Unbeaten after the group stages, they swept aside Droylsden Juniors 9-1 in the last four.

The final, against Reddish Vulcans, was a tense affair. Dynamos found themselves 2-0 down, but stormed back to draw 2-2, before going on to win on penalties.

The ‘B’ team also reached the last four, but just failed to make it an all Dynamos final.

CHADDERTON Park FC are holding a fun day at Chadderton Fold on Saturday (start 1pm).

Coaching sessions for girls

UPPERMILL FC have organised three football sessions for Years One to Five girls.

The first one takes place on Friday at Saddleworth School (5.30pm to 6.30pm), which coincides with National Girls Football Week.

The other sessions are on Fridays, July 3 and July 10, at the same venue.

Primary Schools from Saddleworth have been invited, but any girls in the age range are welcome to attend. There is no charge.

Simon Tait, youth development manager, said: “We’ll be coaching all aspects of football, starting with simple instruction.

“It will be fun and and will highlight the attraction of girls football, which is incredibly popular and the fastest growing sport in the country.

“Hopefully they can benefit from these sessions and may end up playing for Uppermill Rockettes in the Oldham Girls League.

“We are currently looking to recruit at under-eights and under-10s levels.”

Uppermill FC, who are a Charter Standard Club, have entered an under-17s team in the West Riding Girls League next season and are on the look-out for new players.
