Helping with dementia

SPACES are available on a free Dementia workshop taking place at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice on February 26.

Organised by Home Instead Senior Care, the event is open to anyone who supports a loved one with any form of dementia as well as any health and social care professionals or volunteers who would benefit from learning more about the disease.

The session runs from 10am to 1.30pm, with registration from 9.45am at the hospice on Turf Lane, Royton.To book a place, call 01457-874 566.


SPEAK to local councillors and police officers about issues in the area at the Royton District Executive tonight, from 6pm at Royton Town Hall.


DONATE unwanted Christmas gifts to Dr Kershaw’s throughout January to help the hospice with future fundraising tombolas, raffles and hampers.


Gifts can be dropped off at the Royton hospice or any of its charity shops across the borough.

GET active in 2016 with Age UK’s Health Walking Group at Tandle Hill Park every Friday. The walks, designed for those able to walk longer distances, start at the park’s main car park and last from 1pm to 2.30pm.



ENJOY bedtime stories with storyteller Rogan Mills at Royton library tonight. Children can bring along their favourite cuddly toy and pyjamas to the event, which runs from 6pm to 7pm.
