LEARN more about dementia and how to help people live well with the disease at a free workshop in Royton on Tuesday, September 29.
Taking place at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, Turf Lane, from 12.30 to 4pm, the event, organised by Home Instead Senior Care, is open to anyone who supports a loved one with any form of dementia as well as any health and social care professionals or volunteers. To book a place, call 01457-874 566.
HAVE fun and help raise money for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice at a fun day at The Haggate Pub, Middleton Road, Royton, on Saturday, September 26. Open from 3pm, the day will involve food, games, music, a bouncy castle and charity challenges including sitting in a bath of custard and sponsored leg waxes.
THE Royton Homewatch meeting will take place at Oddies, Union Street, on Thursday, from 7 to 8pm.
NETBALL sessions for children aged five to 11 take place at Oldham Academy North, Royton, on Wednesdays from 6 to 8pm. Sessions cost £3.50. For more information contact Netball in the Community on 07740-456 215.
HOW was Royton involved in the Great War? All will be revealed at a Royton Local History Society talk today. Learn more about how 5,500 service men took part in the first World War and how the remaining citizens continued on with the help of the local council. The meeting takes place at Downey House, Church Street, Royton, from 7.30pm.
