FIND out more about the Oldham Oldham Macmillan 1-1 Cancer Support Service at a health and wellbeing event at Downey House, Church Street, Royton, on Wednesday.
The drop-in event, open from 12pm-4pm, is available to anyone looking to find out more about the service and what it can offer.
CHURCHES Together in Royton have organised a sponsored walk to raise money for the Oldham’s Women’s Refuge, the committee’s chosen charity for the year. The circular walk will visit St James’s Church Thornham, Gravelhole Methodist Church and Fir Lane Methodist Church as well Tandle Hill Park on Saturday. The walk will start at St James’s Church at 1pm with walkers returning to the church after for a sharing afternoon tea.
PLANNING permission has been approved for the building of a side extension and alterations to the roof height at 21 Berkeley Drive, Royton.
ROLL up your sleeves and give blood at Royton Trinity Methodist Church, Radcliffe Street on Friday. Sessions are open from 1.10-3.55pm or 5.15-7.30pm. Appointments can be booked online at www.blood.co.uk
A SUMMER fair will take place at Thornham St James’s School on Saturday from 11am to 2pm. Activities for all the family include homebake, tombolas, games, face-painting, refreshments and more.
THE Beehive Charity Shop at Bethesda Church, Royton, has made a special request for donations of buggys or prams to be made. Items can be dropped off at the shop anytime from 10am to noon weekdays.
SPRINGBOARD Oldham Dementia Carers group meets every Thursday for social activities at Downey House, Royton, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
