KEVIN De Bruyne set his sights on the Champions League final after firing Manchester City past Paris St Germain.
De Bruyne settled a compelling quarter–final in City’s favour, 3–2 on aggregate, with the only goal of Tuesday’s second leg on a historic and raucous night at the Etihad Stadium.
The result will put City in elite company when the draw for the semis is made tomorrow - and De Bruyne insists there is more to come from the team.
The Belgium forward said: “I think it’s huge. Everybody has talked about the Champions League and to be in the semi–finals is a great achievement. But it is not done yet. It is only two games away from the final. We will try to do everything to reach the final.”
De Bruyne praised supporters, who after being criticised over slow ticket sales, played a full part in what was a jubilant occasion. The sell–out crowd of 53,039 was a European record for the club.
De Bruyne, City's £54 million record signing, said: "It is amazing to play in a stadium with so many fans cheering for you. It helps the team in every way."
