Euro success is next hurdle for City

IT proved to be a very frustrating day for Manchester City when they just couldn’t break Norwich City at Carrow Road.

City created more than enough chances throughout the 90 minutes, but they just couldn’t take one.

I know I keep saying it, but City still aren’t out of the title race. There are still twists and turns to come, and teams up there challenging will drop more points yet, I’m convinced of that.

Maybe the real hunger is for the Champions League. It’s back to the Etihad tonight for the last-16 second leg against Dynamo Kiev, and I’m convinced City won’t blow their 3-1 advantage from the first leg.

The competition does seem to be a major priority for eveyone at the club right now, and presuming City get through, let’s hope for a decent draw in the last eight.

It seems to be the next hurdle in the general progress of the club for the owners. City have won the league, the FA Cup and the League Cup, now the Champions League appears to be the one everyone is after - and why not?

Sunday sees the big derby game at the Etihad as United – seemingly without the injured Wayne Rooney again – come to do battle.

As we all know, the form book goes out of the window in derby matches, but ultimately I’ll be confident of a City victory.

There seems to be a lot going on behind the scenes at United, and hopefully City can take advanage of that. Certainly on current form City will be favourites to win - but how many times have we said over the years about one team, and the the result has gone the other way?
