Rashford 13-8 to find net again for United

IS his instant success a flash in the pan, or is he the real deal?

Only time will tell if teenager Marcus Rashford is the next superstar to grace a Manchester United shirt - but the early signs are overwhelmingly positive.

Rashford’s unplanned appearance against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League resulted in a spectacular two-goal strike in a 5-1 victory.

That earned him a start in a youthful United team against title challengers Arsenal at Old Trafford - and the youngster repeated the trick.

Given the strength of the opposition – although the Gunners were disappointing on the day – the latter display was even more impressive than his debut, and certainly augurs well for Rashford’s future.

The problem he now has is familiarity. Rashford is no longer an unknown secret weapon for United. Opposition teams will find ways of trying to stop him and that’s certain to be the case tonight when Watford visit Old Trafford for a game that offers the Reds the chance to keep tabs on the top four.

The bookies are taking no chances with Rashford, who is only 13-8 to score at any time in the game. He is 9-2 second favourite, behind team-mate Anthony Martial (4-1), to net the first goal.

United are 4-6 to pick up three points, with Watford 11-2 and the draw 3-1.

City, whose Capital One Cup success against Liverpool will have given them a huge confidence boost, take on the same Merseyside opposition at Anfield tonight.

With Liverpool gunning for revenge and City knowing three points are vital if they are to keep tabs on Leicester, Tottenham and Arsenal in the title race, this could be a crackerjack contest.

City are 15-8 to win the game, which I think is decent value, with the hosts 17-10 favourites and draw 12-5.

The best bet, though, may be the 4-1 for Sergio Aguero to open the scoring. He hit a post and had a flick brilliantly palmed away by Simon Mignolet at Wembley and will be itching to find the net in this one.

It is not often that an in-form Aguero goes two matches without scoring and I can see him setting City on the path to a vital win.

RECOMMENDATION: Sergio Aguero to score the first goal v Liverpool tonight, 4-1 (general).
