Van Gaal fights on at United

LOUIS van Gaal is determined to fight on as Manchester United boss and win back the fans.
The Dutchman acknowledges he is under increasing pressure at Old Trafford, but insists he hasn’t offered to resign and won’t walk away.
Van Gaal faces the latest round of scrutiny as United take on Championship side Derby in a tricky FA Cup fourth–round tie tonight.
The 64 year old said: “Everybody knows I have signed a three–year contract, and I have said in all my press conferences that it is not one game but a process. I want to continue until the end.”
Van Gaal is confident he has the backing of the club’s board, but accepts that brings extra pressure to deliver on expectations for them and the fans.
Van Gaal earlier denied reports this week that he was “talked out” of standing down at Old Trafford following a meeting with chairman Ed Woodward.
Van Gaal turned his anger on the media for the way commentators have portrayed him during United's troubled run of form.
“It is now the third time already that I have been sacked, and I am still sitting here for you,.” he said
