Crunch time looms for LVG

WHERE it began is where it could end for beleaguered Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.
The Dutchman took charge of United in 2014 and his first Barclays Premier League fixture was against Swansea in August - a shock 2-1 defeat for the Reds.
Ironically for Van Gaal, Swansea are the visitors again on Saturday - with the United boss knowing another poor result could spell the end of his Old Trafford career.
Van Gaal was under pressure to keep his job before two indifferent results over Christmas.
Despite all his troubles, the manager appears to retain the backing of his players and staff – at least on the surface.
Defender Chris Smalling insists there has been no change in his manager’s demeanour.
“No, he has been himself from day one to now,” Smalling said. “He is not going to change and that is why he has had a lot of success throughout the years.”
England star Smalling, arguably United’s best player this season, admits he and his team–mates are in desperate need of a win.
