MANCHESTER City were handed a wake-up call by a dominant Liverpool side at the Etihad Stadium.
Jurgen Klopp’s men out-fought and out-played City on the day and were good value for their 4-1 win.
Klopp’s tactics in nullifying the City threat were absolutely spot-on. Liverpool looked a really good team so it’ll be interesting to measure their progress over the next few months.
You could see at the end that the players have really taken to Klopp.
He is a real character, but there is clearly a lot of respect there for the German. All of the Liverpool players went straight to him at the final whistle and that’s a great sign.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini will be after a reaction in the Champions League game at Juventus tomorrow.
City have already qualified for the last 16 stage of course, but they will be desperate to finish top of their group as it gives you a draw advantage in the last 16.
I dare say Mr Pellegrini will make a few changes, and it would be nice to see David Silva back from injury.
It really is a crucial game, but on paper it’s also set to be a really tough one.
I’m quite busy at the office a the moment, preparing a number of features for the City website’s advent calendar in the lead-up to Christmas.
Each day in December I’ll be putting a video feature on there and I’ve already got a few in the can.
There will be some daft games going on there and ‘Chappy’s taxi’, where I go and pick up a player from home and take him to training.
There’s always plenty of good banter going on and I know the players love getting involved.
