OLDHAM-based snooker star Hamza Akbar was beaten 4-2 by Matthew Selt of Atherstone in the first round of the Bulgarian Open.
Akbar, who practices at Oldham Snooker Academy, led 2-1 but was unable to sustain the momentum.
Akbar and fellow Oldham professional Michael Wild will now set their sights on the UK Championship at York’s Barbican Centre later this month.
