MANCHESTER City striker Wilfried Bony claims he is giving everything to score goals for the club.

The £25million January signing has had a slow start to his City career and fans voiced their frustration as he spurned a host of chances in Saturday’s defeat of Norwich.

Bony is now getting a prolonged run in the team for the first time due to injury to star striker Sergio Aguero.

A combination of international commitments, injuries and malaria had previously hampered his attempts to establish himself. The 26 year old is determined to make the most of his opportunity and will have his eyes on goal in tonight’s Champions League clash at Sevilla.

The Ivory Coast international said: “I’m trying everything to score goals, but they did not go in for me on Saturday. I hope soon they will. It would be great to get one in the Champions League.

“I thought I had scored a goal in the last game against Sevilla, but it looks like maybe not – that was an own goal – so perhaps I can get one in this game instead.

“I am here to score goals. I just want to do my job, do my best in training and score when get my chance in the match.”

City go into the game at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium knowing that a victory could secure their place in the last 16.
